Here we come again! with new projects and new colors and prints in the shop as nice as this one! The Baltimore pale pink that I used to make these beautiful (and useful! ) baskets.
Now that we have learned how to make an oval base for the handbags, we can use the same base to do other objects, like baskets. I made these ones for my closet but they are really versatile and you can use it in the bathroom, in the kitchen, to storage small things or in the entrance for the keys and all the staff that we all have to look for when we leave the house! :)
So! let's crochet them!
- ROW 1) We skip 1 chain stitch and we do 9 single crochet stitches. In the next one, we do 5 single crochet stitches. We go on for the other side of the chain stitch and we do 8 single crochet stitches. In the next chain stitches, we do 2 single crochet stitches/ 2 single crochet stitches.
- ROW 2) We make 10 single crochet stitches. Then, 2 single crochet stitches / 2 single crochet / 2 single crochet (the corner). We go for the other side with 10 single crochet stitches more and 2 single crochet / 2 single crochet/ 2 single crochet stitches for the corner.
- ROW 3) We make 10 single crochet stitches, 2 single crochet/ 1 single crochet stitch/ 2 single crochet stitches/ 1 single crochet and 2 single crochet stitch and we go on with 10 single crochet stitches and then we repeat the corner: 2 single crochet, 1 single crochet / 2 single crochet / 1 single crochet / 2 single crochet and 1 single crochet stitch.
- ROW 4) We make 10 single crochet, 2 single crochet/ 1 single / 1 single / 2 single crochet / 1 single / 1 single/ 2 single crochet/ 1 single/ 1 single and we go on in the other side making 10 single crochet stitches, 2 single crochet/ 1 single / 1 single / 2 single crochet / 1 single / 1 single/ 2 single crochet/ 1 single/ 1 single.
We have finished the oval base! Now we close it with a slip stitch (mark with a piece of yarn or a clip the beginning of your row).
ROW 5-11) We start with a chain stitch and we do a single stitch in each stitch of the previous row. We repeat that in all the rows.
If you want, to give a final touch you can do a last row with the crab stitch that you will find in this video tutorial! It looks great on baskets!
Let me know if you have any doubt!
