Questions, answered
What exactly is t-shirt yarn?
It's a soft, chunky yarn made from fabric cut into one continuous strip — you might also hear it called fabric yarn, jersey yarn, or spaghetti yarn. Makers love it because it works up fast and has a sturdy, cushiony feel that's perfect for crochet, macramé, knitting, and weaving.
Which one should I choose?
It comes down to the feel you're after. Go Recycled if you love chunky, eco-conscious makes with one-of-a-kind character. Go Poly if you want next-gen stretch and a smooth, elevated finish. Go Premium if you care about every stitch and want our softest, most uniform yarn. Still torn? Start with the one that sounds most like you — you can always try the others later.
Why are the Recycled colors "limited edition"?
Because each batch is made from a different run of recycled materials, no two are exactly alike — which is part of the charm. It also means a color can't always be remade, so if you're planning a big project, grab all the skeins you need in one go. Poly and Premium colors, by contrast, are repeatable.
What hook or needle size works best?
A 6–8 mm hook is a great starting point for most projects, though the perfect size really depends on your tension and the look you want. Chunkier Recycled and Premium yarns love a larger hook; the finer Poly can go a touch smaller.
I'm a beginner — is t-shirt yarn easy to work with?
Absolutely. It's one of the friendliest yarns to learn on. Premium and Poly give you the most consistent thickness for even, tidy stitches, while Recycled's chunky texture is forgiving and quick to see progress. Any of the three is a lovely place to start.
How do I care for my finished pieces?
Spot-clean when you can, and for a fuller wash go gentle: cool water, mild detergent, and lay flat to dry to help your piece keep its shape. Cotton-based Recycled and Premium yarns are especially happy air-drying, while Poly's elastane helps it bounce back beautifully.
