Handmade Stocking Fillers

Miniature Macrame: Handmade Stocking Fillers

We believe there’s nothing nicer than receiving a handmade gift at Christmas. The thought that goes into homemade gifts makes them super special, and they’re as fun to make as they are to receive!

This year it is predicted that there will be an increase in homemade Christmas presents as people are looking to make connections through more meaningful gifts. If you want to have a go at making some last-minute gifts, we’ve put together some ideas for miniature macrame! The only thing cuter than handmade gifts at Christmas is miniature gifts so why not try some of the below, perfectly sized stocking fillers.

Miniature Macrame Keyrings

Keyrings are one of the first things to spring to mind when we think of miniature macrame. There are so many inventive ways to incorporate macrame into an accessory, and keyrings are the ideal size for a stocking filler! Keyrings do tend to get bashed about a bit, being stuffed in pockets or thrown in handbags so you’ll want to use a strong, robust macrame cord. Our colorful cotton balls are great for making keyrings because at 2.5mm it’s still very fine for small, intricate work, but it’s a soft material.

Keyrings also double up perfectly as bag charms! Both are a good excuse to incorporate wooden beads into your miniature macrame gifts. One chunky bead or several smaller beads add texture and points of interest. A keyring and a bag charm as a matching set would make the cutest miniature macrame gift this Christmas!

Jewelry With a Difference

Earrings are a great place to showcase miniature macrame. You can use similar styles to that of a keyring for dangling earrings that make a statement. Macrame feathers look stunning as earrings, and our 4mm combed cotton cones lends themselves perfectly to a macrame feather.

We also love macrame bracelets and necklaces, because you can play around with combining different materials. You may want your jewelry piece to be made entirely of yarn, but it can also be lovely for macrame to make up just one element of your craft. For example, why not get a long chain made out of your preferred metal and make a miniature macrame pendant? The soft texture against the metal creates a great contrast. Making necklaces and bracelets is another great idea for matching miniature macrame gift sets! You could make one unique gift or a few matching accessories for several of your loved ones.

Tiny Wall Hangings

One of the best things about miniature macrame is that it’s an opportunity to use leftover materials and scraps. At Ganxxet we hate waste! So preventing materials from going to landfill whilst also making cute miniature macrame is our favorite thing. Miniature wall hangings are a great way to experiment with smaller projects, and you can get some really tiny wooden dowels if you want to challenge yourself to make something super small!

Miniature macrame for your house is one thing, but what about for a doll’s house? We have seen some super cute tiny wall hangings and plant hangers made the perfect fit for a little doll’s house, so if you have children’s stockings to fill that could be the sweetest idea!

Miniature Macrame Pet Accessories

We’ve thought about the kids, but what about the pets? We love nothing more than seeing photos of your furry friends with miniature macrame collars. You want a sturdy material for pet accessories, but something still gentle enough that it won’t irritate your pet’s skin. Our natural linen cones are ideal for crafting collars, and we have plenty of bright colors like the lollipop pink/ red so your pet will stand out!
